Bokhara

Bokhara is perhaps the most recognizable rug pattern in the complicated but beautiful world of oriental rugs. It is characterized by a repeated design, called “elephant hoof,” and is most often a tight weave, sheared to a very low pile creating a beautiful sheen. The predominate colors of Bokhara are limited, with red being the most popular and widely known color. It is considered a tribal pattern and is woven mostly in Pakistan today.
