Mahal

Mahal carpets are named for a region of rug weaving villages located in central Iran. These rugs share common identifying traits. Some of the common design features are the use of the Shah Abbas design, rosettes, and tulips. Woven with a medium to heavy pile, these carpets have a firm and lustrous feel. The combination of hand spun yarn and vegetable dyes create an effect reminiscent of the late 1800's, when these carpets first became favorites in the U.S. and Europe.
